D. Tips & Hints
Tips: Instead of explaining every level in the game and giving spoilers. I just decided to give you tips under this section for both Single player and Multiplayer.
Single Player - In single player you will go through many horror missions and you will encounter a lot of enemy. F.E.A.R has the smartest A.I. out of any Xbox 360 game out there IMO, and many other sites, and magazines are saying the same. You simply don’t just kill them, they will jump out of your way, and you will have to use your granades and weapons carefully, also don’t forget your slow-motion.
Slow-Mo - You want to make sure you don’t use this at time when not needed or when you think it is an easy fight against an enemy because you will want to save it for the harder attacks, like going agaist the giant looking soldiers that have medal shields on their shoulders, or the giant bot’s you will encounter through out your campain.
Weapons - When using your weapons make sure you are conservative with them because you will run out of bullets quickly and when most needed you will not have any for use, than you have no choice to use Slow-mo or try to attempt to melee attack the enemy which is not such an easy task when having to go up against a few of them. Also make sure you use your granades carefully too, they are devestating at close range, also save them for when you end up having to go up against horde of enemy.
Healthpacks - Use your health packs wisely because unlike in multiplayer where you can own someone from a headshot it does not happen so often in singleplayer. Press Y to use your healthpacks and use them when you are low on health. For example if your health is 70 don’t use your health pack unless it’s under 60 because you’ll need it later on in worse situations.
There are situations where you don’t know what’s going on when Alma is attacking you just go backwards if you stay in the same spot or go towards her she will kill you.
Single player is intense and you don’t get all the bullets and granades you would like so be conservative and careful, have fun!
Single player is intense and if you are careful with all your gadgets you should be ok.
Multiplayer - The multiplayer in F.E.A.R is extremely fun, the gameplay is fun, addictive, and really easy to pick up. It is basic game play that anyone should pick up after about three or four games. Refering back to my modes about multiplayer you can look at what maps are which and how many players they support.
Pick out your favorite weapons from the weapons explained in my FEAR FAQ and see which one handles the best. For starters you will find the G2A2 to be an easy weapon that shoots so many bullets at a fast pace and is very effective. As a secondary weapon I would say that the Penetrator is a great option, it is very accurate and effective with least bullets. Than you have the RPL where it shoots so much and is a balance between Penetrator and G2A2 IMO.
Granades in F.E.A.R are fun in some cases, well at least when you’re killing with them. Look out though as you kill an opponent they will throw a granade behind and will kill you. There are different typs of granades, like remote bombs and mines, remote bombs are tough especially in capture the flag, make sure you throw a granade where you think they might be because that will detonate them. A lot of people just had straight for the flag and end up blowing up.
There are a few thing to keep in mind F.E.A.R is fast paced and most maps are open and have a lot of corners as well, you could be attacked from any corner so try to be aware of everything that is around you, if you are coming from one place make sure you look around before coming out because it makes an easy target, I have seen some people hiding or resting in one place, which does not help them, after killing once or twice move another spot before you expose your self. Try not to go around as a team in team deathmatch, because I have killed so many at once and been killed by another team travelling together, the only way to avoid not getting granaded as a whole team is to remove them from the game. Over all which ever game type you are playing you want to make sure you have the best suited equipment for that game type whether it’s Slow-Mo or Elimination or perhaps CTF be ready and prepared.

Shotgun is the most effective gun against these machines.
Keep in mind:
- Rockets: people will find them and kill of course, just be cautios and avoid them by jumping or shooting at the opponents head trying to get to him before he gets to you.
- Mines: look out for mines they will be planted at doorways, and you’re to busy trying to kill you won’t pay attention for those.
- Remote bombs: when you see a opponent running with his hand up and the other hand on a remote, you guessed it, kill him quick.
- Granades: as I mentioned in one of my previous paragaphs, don’t get to close when killing an enemy or at least jump back after killing them, or that granade will shred you to pieces.
There are other strong weapons like the particle gun and the repeating cannon to look out for but they are less devastating when shot by an inaccurate person, unlike the rockets which have a damage radius.
There are many other ways to make your self a great player, and as time goes on you will learn the tips and tricks of this game, just keep on practicing. Feel free to post any other useful tips when playing online, so that other’s can benefit.
