TGR News Recap: June 8th
Posted by Brandon Hess, 180 days ago Jun 8, 2008 22:35

  • After frustrating gamers with the initial 1,000 Gamerscore, Square-Enix has added an additional 25 Achievements to Final Fantasy XI to bring the total to an impossible 1,250.
  • In the first issue of Qore, Sony’s for-pay interactive magazine, subscribers have found a hidden mini-game with some brutal AI.
  • As EVE Online prepares to release its Empyrean Age expansion, residents in the Jita star system are experiencing a serious(ly funny) disaster.
  • Wedbush Morgan analyst Micheal Pachter has predicted, play by play, how the EA/Take Two negotiations will play out. Here’s a hint: EA wins.
  • It looks like Rock Band may never see master recordings of the Who’s album "Who’s Next," as Pete Townshend reports the theft of one of the two discs.
  • In rather surprising news, Grand Theft Auto and Madden both appear prominently on a list of the ten best-selling games of all time in the United States.
  • Nintendo is always hiring, but a recent job opening hints at possible USB attachments for the Wii; maybe an external hard drive?
  • Walmart has broken the Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots street date. At least twice. Konami? Not worried.
  • Gas Powered Games gave Eurogamer Germany the first details on their upcoming sequel Dungeon Siege 3, citing a shift away from group play.
  • After Take Two’s announcement that the Xbox 360-exclusive DLC for Grand Theft Auto 4 would be delayed to Q1 of ’09, Microsoft held firm in their belief that it would still hit Xbox Live this fall. Are they just being stubborn? Probably not.
