Game publisher Ubisoft has today released the first half of it’s fiscal earnings report for the 2007 fiscal year. The reports shows an increase in profits by 52% and an 55% increase in sales for a grand total of 43 million and an accumulated profit of 65.4 million. Ubisoft also released some information regarding it’s 2007 video game release calender. For instance the company has announced that Tom Clancy’s Rainbw Six : Vegas 2 will be released during the 4th quarter of the 2007-2008 fiscal year along with Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction which will be released during the 2008-2009 and Haze which has been delayed to the 4th quarter of the 2007-2008 fiscal year as opposed to it’s 3rd quarter release. Ubisoft has also purchased the Japanese studio Digital Kids whose staff of 20 has done much work for the Nintendo DS and has contributed in the past to several of Ubisoft’s Petz games such as the profitable Hamsterz Life.
The CEO of Ubisoft, Yves Guillernot, commented that the company’s “excellent sales performance during first half of fiscal 2007-08 has considerably boosted our earnings figures for the period.” Also the forecast for the company’s holiday season was quoted as being “positive”, “especially for Assassin’s Creed, whose sell-through sales have already topped record level of 1 million units.” Guillernot also added that the company’s current fiscal success which will add further impetus for 2008-09, which we expect to be a another year of robust growth for the Group."
