Are you a part of the seemingly endless number who think Too Human isn’t all that great? You think all that time in development and all that hype (most of it generated by Denis Dyack himself) seem to end in virtually no payoff? Well Denis Dyack would like to kindly tell you that you’re obviously too stupid to understand his great gaming masterpiece, and you’re just crucifying his obviously great game because you’re afraid of what you don’t understand. Straight from the lips of the man himself:
“You’ll get some first time players who may not get it. The combat is incredibly deep and takes time to get used to."
“It’s really funny, people say they want innovation,” he went on. “You know, this is probably too much hyperbole but Too Human is one of the most innovative games on the 360, period."
“This is because of the control and camera scheme. People don’t know what they are seeing and their first reaction is I don’t get that. But once they get it people love it.”
Ummm... I don’t think people really love it as much as Dyack thinks, at least not if the Metacritic scores are anything to go by. Still, it seems like when it comes to Dyack, there’s nothing you can do to convince him that his sh*t does indeed stink just like everyone else’s, so you’re best off just nodding your head and zoning out while he blathers on about the existential repercussions Too Human will have in all of our lives. Sure thing Denis, you just keep the faith buddy, meanwhile I’m going to go play something else.
