Halo 3 “Heroic Map Pack” released today.
Posted by Nick2728, 267 days ago Dec 11, 2007 16:00

The international award-winning “Halo 3” gets even better as the “Halo 3” Heroic Map Pack launches today on Xbox 360’s Xbox LIVE Marketplace. After launching to incredible acclaim and fanaticism, more than five million “Halo 3” players worldwide can now enjoy a package of three all new multiplayer maps.  The Heroic Map Pack is the first in a series of downloadable content from Bungie Studios. All three maps are available for purchase at 800 Microsoft Points per map and each exhibits their own individual style of construction.

Map 1: Standoff

Standoff is placed inside a valley littered with groups of boulders and dug in entrenchments that are well suited for mid sized teams and Slayer type battles.

Map 2: Rat’s Nest

Rat’s Nest is a animal of a different color as it consists entirely of a large facility littered with underground passageways suitable for large scale vehicle combat and large team battles of any kind.

Map 3: Foundry

Last but not least there is Foundry which has, as it’s unique characteristic, the ability of any Halo 3 owner to edit the entire map in anyway he or she see fit. The large storage area that composes the core of the Foundry multiplayer map is completely interactive to let players arrange the map to their own specifications by choosing the locations of stairways, walls, bridges, and tunnels to give their fellow players a totally unique challenge with every play.

In addition all three of the new maps can also be edited in Forge mode to add a new level of replayability to the already highly popular Halo 3 multiplayer experience. Also, come Spring 2008, all three maps will be made free to download in time for the release of the latest series of mutliplayer maps by Bungie.
