Many, including myself, were starting to wonder if Unreal Tournament III would ever see the light of day on the Xbox 360, with it coming out last November for PC and last December for PS3 and with the announcement at this years GDC 2008 that Epics Gears Of War 2 will be shipping this coming November, many thought that the 360 version may just of been canned.
Well fear no more as Mark Rein himself over at the Epic forums have given people a little update on the development of the Unreal Tournament III for the Xbox 360. He had this to say:
“We don’t have a particular release date yet but we’re going to be playing it with some members of the press in two weeks at Midway’s next Gamers Day in Las Vegas. Should be fun. The game is coming along really nicely.”
There’s some good news. At least we know it’s playable and coming a long nicely. Still though with no release date, Grand Theft Auto 4 out end of the month, COD4 still selling crazy, Halo 3 still being played and the prospect of Gears 2 in November, is there really any room for Epics Frag fest in the Xbox’s library of games?
Let us know what you think over in the forums. Is UTIII coming out to late for the 360 crowd to even bother with it? Or is there still space for the daddy of frags?
Be sure to stay tuned to thegamereviews.com for more news as we get it.
