After breaking the news to you that Unreal Tournament III will be shipping on Xbox 360 in the Summer with exclusive content and new functionalities, including two new characters, five new maps and the new split screen functionality, we have gathered word that Epic is planning a little Gears of War 2 surprise hidden in Unreal Tournament III.

Talking to Official Xbox Magazine UK, Mark Rein had this to say:

"You know, there might be a little Gears Of War 2 related surprise on the disc of Unreal Tournament 3. That’s all I’m saying about that."
Well if that’s true, Unreal Tournaments III’s sales have probably doubled already. He went on to say that we will find out soon what it will be. With Unreal Tournament III coming to 360 6 months after the Playstation 3 and PC versions, will 360 players embrace it like they do Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4? With Xbox Live functionality, Unreal Tournament III has enough going for it to play with the big boys that are dominating Xbox Live at the moment.
