Hot on the heels of announcing a comic-book adaptation for the upcoming game Prototype, DC Comics has announced yet another artistic endeavor into the graphic arts. This time, the company plans to bring the popular Gears of War to the inked page.
Although artists and writers have not yet been announced, DC says that its subsidiary WildStorm, the same company that will adapt Prototype, will publish the series. The general storyline will follow the main characters of Gears of War’s first game, Delta Squad, and their exploits between the first and second game.
"We have an opportunity to work closely with Epic to add to the canon of the Gears of War mythos, so you can imagine how excited we all are," said Hank Kanalz, VP and General Manager of WildStorm.
Gears of War is one of the Xbox 360’s most popular titles, and its sequel by Epic Games has been announced for release later this year.
