A few weeks ago we reported that Sega would be closing its Racing Studio asdue to lack of adequate income from the group. Well it seems that Codemasters see it different as they have announced that they will be taking over Racing Studio immediately.
“In seizing this opportunity, we have created additional resources to escalate our plans in the racing segment," said Rod Cousens of Codemasters.
"We hope to welcome more than 40 people to the company and we have enjoyed the full cooperation of our friends at SEGA in making this happen. It is good business for Codemasters, an exciting prospect, and there will be more to come as we are not content to stand still."
No news yet on what Racing Studio will be working on, but with Codemasters wanting to establish itself in the racing world one could only guess it will be something right in their wheelhouse.
