Ninja Gaiden 2 to be Last in Series
Posted by predator, 51 days ago May 14, 2008 08:44

It seems that Ninja Gaiden 2 will be the very last Ninja Gaiden we will see, as lead designer Tomonobu Itagaki has reveled that he has no plans to carry on the series further on Xbox 360 or any other platform.

"Personally I think we were able to create the definitive 3D game in this series so I’m not planning on making any other games in the series," Itagaki told Kotaku through a translator, "so I hope fans treat this as a swan song for the franchise. I think we were able to achieve everything we wanted with this game so anything else would be extraneous."

When asked if Playstation 3 owners will get a Ninja Gaiden spin off like Sigma Tomonobu Itagaki responded "that would be ridiculous." Well, that sorts that out.

Tomonobu Itagaki also says he is looking for something "totally new, completely unrelated to anything I’ve done before. Not any part of any existing franchises."

We certainly look forward to that, but it is surely disappointing that Ninja Gaiden 2 will be the last in this great franchise. Le’ts hope Ninja Gaiden says its farewell in a kick-ass game. Stay tuned to TheGameReviews.com for our exclusive interview and preview of Ninja Gaiden 2 soon.
