The most recent Bungie Weekly Update contained some somber news for the Bungie community: Content Manager Frank O’Connor is leaving the studio. Community demagogue Luke Smith announced O’Connor’s departure before deferring to Frankie’s own words in the form of a note to Bungie fans.
O’Connor explained that he was leaving the developer in order to “work more closely with Microsoft on the Halo franchise,” apparently proving that his constant jokes about Don Mattrick didn’t burn too many bridges. He went on to thank all the fans for, among other things, enthusiasm, patience, creativity and, perhaps most of all, not murdering him before he went on to tease an unnamed upcoming Bungie project, literally calling it “the Next Big Thing” and leaving the details to our imagination.
